Here are five observations, most of them depressing, about the Syrian civil war, formulated in light of the announcement by the White House that President Bashar al- Assad's regime has, in fact, used chemical weapons and that, in response, the U.S. will supply small arms and ammunition to the Syrian rebels:

Catch and release.

Five fishermen on a commercial expedition 2-3 miles off the coast of Destin, Fla., on Wednesday found 25 kilograms (55 pounds) of cocaine floating in the water, worth an estimated $2.5 million, before handing it over to authorities. Continued...

The full House of Representatives will vote next week on a bill that would ban abortions nationwide at 20 weeks of pregnancy.

On Wednesday, a committee passed the bill on a 20-12 vote and the measure now heads to the full House floor where it is expected to receive a debate and vote next week. Republicans are supportive of the measure while Democrats are generally opposed to it.

The National Right to Life Committee is one of many pro-life organizations that support the bill and are urging pro-life advocates to contact members of Congress to urge a vote for it.

"We could get government out of the bedroom if it weren't for the fact that a certain type of act between a man and woman creates new life, and children need moms and dads," he said.

The New York Times recently recognized Anderson and other movement leaders like Caitlin Seery, who directs the Love and Fidelity Network on college campuses.

"We are trying to help students prepare themselves for healthy marriages so they will then raise healthy families because healthy families are the foundation of our society," Seery told CBN News.

What Seery, Anderson, and other supporters of traditional marriage have in common is a willingness to face fierce opposition and think outside the box about what is possible.

They're up against a Supreme Court that may soon decide in favor of gay marriage and a country in which the majority believe that its legalization is inevitable.

Polls show almost half of all Americans believe that homosexual behavior is a sin. Those with such deeply held beliefs will no doubt welcome a movement that would champion their cause and provide profound arguments in favor of one of life's most sacred institutions.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has long been on the forefront of the Islamist mission to establish the equivalent of Islamic blasphemy laws in the West. Now, during its 12th Islamic Summit held in Cairo February 7-8, 2013, the OIC set forth new and creative ways to silence, and ultimately criminalize criticism of Islam.

The OIC is a 57-member state organization that claims to represent 1.5 billion Muslims around the globe. As the second largest international organization in the world, behind only the UN, and as the largest Islamic organization in the world, it is obviously quite powerful. Though it is arguably the largest voting block in the UN, most people have never heard of it.

(Check this out, it is wrong on so many level & why we need to tighten, not LOOSEN, our immigration and student visa policies. Sorry but I see the student visa program as a sort of infiltration of our culture and system from within. What better way to sabotage us, than to live among us. *grrrrrr*)

Thank you for your excellent advice, that I should look at Glenn’s “positives” while you so eloquently pointed out our “negatives”. Thank you for guiding us and for providing us with terms; comments rebuking the Shoebats are just fine, so long as no one rebukes Beck.

And also, thank you for showing how I did quote Beck when he was right. However, I wonder why you said we “should state the good with the bad with Beck”. This is confusing. Perhaps you can help and add to the necessary confessions I need to make. How am I anti-Beck? Help me count the ways. I admit that I was wrong to pick on his spiritual drives but his political positions never bothered me. In fact, I agree with many of them.

Moreover, you so eloquently stated in Glenn’s defense that the Temple Mount also belongs to Muslims, for the time being, of course:

“if you cannot hear Glenn TRYING NOT TO START WW3 on location (which he was warned ahead by Israel not to stoke fire that would cause Islamic rock-throwing demonstrations, turmoil, etc.) then you are being unbalanced and agenda-oriented …”

And I want to thank you for pointing out more logs in our eyes. Indeed, we must have been “unbalanced” and “agenda-oriented”. By no means should we undermine all the other devil-ridden obsessive traits which you exorcised when you said that we are “obsessed”, “venomous”, “childish”, have “thick skulls”, are “rude”, “bashers”, “mud-slingers”, “defensive”, “negative”, “stubborn”, and “deaf”.

And thank you for making sure that you’re setting such a clear example for us to follow by “not typing these words in a defensive spirit”. It’ll be greatly beneficial to me when I wonder how to treat my wife the next time we have an argument. All I need to do is add these words to my atonement vernacular when seeking forgiveness for such sins.

We agree, never “throw babies with the bath water” but what if a baby snake cobra was inside my bathtub? Do you recommend that I drain the bath water and embrace the c

The Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is pressuring public schools in this country to make special accommodations for Muslim students and to deny comparable accommodations for students of other faiths.

For example, CAIR’s instructional material for teachers entitled “An Educator’s Guide to Islamic Religious Practices” advises schools to permit Muslim students who wish to attend Friday congregational worship (known as Jum’ah) to “request a temporary release from school.”

In Michigan, CAIR went beyond dispensing general advice from its guidebook. In April, 2013, it pushed for public schools in Dearborn, Michigan to accommodate Muslim students who wish to comfortably pray on school grounds and to allow Muslim students to leave early on Fridays for Jumu’ah prayers.

The school superintendant caved, and CAIR got its wish.
