A woman with the world’s largest hips stands five-foot-four and weighs over 400 pounds. Surprisingly, California resident, Mikel Ruffinelli, the new record-holder of the largest hips in the world, only has a 40-inch-waistline.
Huffington Post noted in a Jan. 22 report that the Los Angeles resident, despite carrying around a large amount of body weight, is quite happy with her figure. She attributes her enormous weight-gain to giving birth when she was 22.
The 39-year-old woman, a mom to four children, said this in a recent interview about the milestone in her life:
"I see no reason to diet because I don’t have health problems. Men don’t fancy skinny girls, they like an hourglass figure."
"In the past, I was self-conscious about my hips. As I got older, I learned to love my body and now I’m not afraid to show it off,” the woman said.
Ruffinelli’s husband of 10 years, Reggie Brooks, said he was immediately drawn to her charming personality when they first met. To him, it was more than a physical attraction.
On his wife’s large hips and frame, he quipped, "I have a license to work with heavy equipment."
While the woman with the world’s largest hips is happy in the skin she’s in, daily tasks are burdensome due to the heavy weight.
For example, she has to drive a truck to accommodate her frame, requires a special chair at home, has trouble getting through doors and sleeps on a bed that spans seven-feet in width.
Not only is pregnancy to blame for her enormous weight-gain; perhaps, her daily intake of 3,000 calories has something to do with having the world’s largest hips.
