They should have said, for example, "according to conventional assumptions of geology and nuclear physics, how old is the earth?" Or: "How old do uniformitarians commonly say the earth is?" Not "How old is the earth," as if they're going to reject the creation answer out-of-hand. Besides, their joke answer, 6015 years, is obsolete now. I found out that the true answer is more like 7500 years. | The only solution is to decentralize the tax code. One way could be to tax states based on their populations, then it's incumbent to the state to figure out how the pay that bill. Another is to simply decentralize all the federal agencies (not just IRS, but EPA, FBI, etc). | I have done many of these on a smaller scale when I worked for my father's company, and then when I started my own company. Although we quit replacing foundations due to the liability involved in California. We used to brace the structure with support cribbing, then we would remove the full foundation, to form up for new concrete and steel. In my heyday, I could replace 200' of foundation a day with two helpers. At the time I did it, I used to charge $425.00 a linear foot. It took about 4 days to swap out a foundation for a single family home, with inspections on permits. Many of the homes I did were built at the turn of the 20th century -- row houses with brick foundations. The largest building I did was a seven unit apartment building.
