Shockingly, Democrats are the least enthusiastic group.
Via Washington Secrets:
Take your “Happy Holidays” and shove it. Finally, there’s proof that Americans prefer “Merry Christmas.”
By a wide margin, 68 percent to 23 percent, Americans prefer stores with signs that say “Merry Christmas” during the Christmas holidays than the more generic and secular “Happy Holidays,” according to a new Rasmussen Reports survey.
A few examples:
– Among men, it’s 69 percent for “Merry Christmas,” compared to 22 percent for “Happy Holiday.”
– Women: 67 percent to 23 percent.
– Whites: 69 percent to 20 percent.
– Blacks: 56 percent to 40 percent.
– Republicans: 86 percent to 8 percent.
– Democrats: 51 percent to 41 percent.

1) THE GIFT OF LISTENING... But you must REALLY listen. No interrupting, no daydreaming, no planning your response. Just listening.
2) THE GIFT OF AFFECTION... Be generous with appropriate hugs, kisses, pats on the back and handholds. Let these small actions demonstrate the love you have for family and friends.
3) THE GIFT OF LAUGHTER... Clip cartoons. Share articles and funny stories. Your gift will say, "I love to laugh with you."

7) THE GIFT OF SOLITUDE... There are times when we want nothing better than to be left alone. Be sensitive to those times and give the gift of solitude to others.
8) THE GIFT OF A CHEERFUL DISPOSITION... The easiest way to feel good is to extend a kind word to someone, really it's not that hard to say, Hello or Thank You. Friends are a very rare jewel, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, they share a word of praise, and they always want to open their hearts to us. Show your friends how much you care.

How does the slowest shark in the world catch its food? Living in frigid, near-freezing waters, the Greenland shark swims at less than 1 mile an hour. It takes seven seconds for one full sweep of its tail to propel it forward.
Researchers, however, have found remains of seals in the sharks’ stomachs. Those findings have marine biologists wondering how one of the slowest fish in the sea can catch a fast-swimming seal.

" Though the Thanksgiving story began long before our founding, the holiday itself started in 1863, when President Lincoln gave thanks for 'the gracious gifts of the Most High God,' first among them being freedom. He invited Americans to mark a day of Thanksgiving so that these gifts could be 'solemnly, reverently and gratefully acknowledged with one heart and one voice by the whole American People.'
To think that Lincoln, at the height of the Civil War, could look ahead and see a future of peace and unity - it's an inspiring reminder of how truly blessed we are. "
How blessed we are; indeed.
FTA: "It’s about midway through the Islamic season of Ramadan, an annual period of fasting and reflection for Muslims. Around the world, millions of Muslims are fasting, praying, reading the Qur’an, and striving for purity in thought and deed. The post below was published last year during Ramadan, and contains some useful ideas for Christians to consider during Ramadan—so we’re re-posting it today..."
One dollar and eighty-seven cents. That was all. And sixty cents of it was in pennies. Pennies saved one and two at a time by bulldozing the grocer and the vegetable man and the butcher until one's cheeks burned with the silent imputation of parsimony that such close dealing implied. Three times Della counted it. One dollar and eighty- seven cents. And the next day would be Christmas.
There was clearly nothing to do but flop down on the shabby little couch and howl. So Della did it. Which instigates the moral reflection that life is made up of sobs, sniffles, and smiles, with sniffles predominating.
While the mistress of the home is gradually subsiding from the first stage to the second, take a look at the home. A furnished flat at $8 per week. It did not exactly beggar description, but it certainly had that word on the lookout for the mendicancy squad.
In the vestibule below was a letter-box into which no letter would go, and an electric button from which no mortal finger could coax a ring. Also appertaining thereunto was a card bearing the name "Mr. James Dillingham Young."
The "Dillingham" had been flung to the breeze during a former period of prosperity when its possessor was being paid $30 per week. Now, when the income was shrunk to $20, though, they were thinking seriously of contracting to a modest and unassuming D. But whenever Mr. James Dillingham Young came home and reached his flat above he was called "Jim" and greatly hugged by Mrs. James Dillingham Young, already introduced to you as Della. Which is all very good.
The James Ossuary is a genuine antique. The inscription it bears has stood trial. And it probably held the bones of the brother of Jesus.
The Bible predicts that madness will prevail before Jesus returns. Madness is now the order of the day in America and in the Middle East.
Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and through grace gave us eternal comfort and good hope, comfort your hearts and strengthen them in every good work and word. (2 Thessalonians 2:16-17)
I read about a Sunday School teacher who asked her class to draw a picture of the Holy Family for Christmas. One little boy turned in a picture of a mother, father, and a baby in an airplane with a pilot. "Who do you have there?" asked the teacher. "That's Mary, Joseph, the baby Jesus," answered the little boy, "and that's Pontius the Pilot."
And after reading this story, I wandered if Pontius the Pilot was going to intentionally wreck the plane, since he was the one who sentenced Jesus to death.
Even in Jesus' death, we are reminded that Jesus is our savior who brings us light and hope.
Father of Jesus, thank you for the hope you give me through the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Give me the courage to help those who have no or little hope. Amen........`

* CAN MUSLIMS BE GOOD AMERICAN? *
Maybe this is why ‘American’ Muslims are so quiet and not speaking out about any atrocities.
*Can a good Muslim be good American?
Theologically - no.. Because his allegiance is to Allah, The moon god of Arabia ..
Religiously - no... Because no other religion is accepted by His Allah except Islam. (Quran, 2:256)(Koran)
Scripturally - no... Because his allegiance is to the five Pillars of Islam and the Quran.
Geographically - no.. Because his allegiance is to Mecca , to which he turns in prayer five times a day.
Socially - no... Because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make friends with Christians or Jews.
Politically - no.... Because he must submit to the mullahs (spiritual leaders), who teach annihilation of Israel and destruction of America , the great Satan.
Domestically - no... Because he is instructed to marry four Women and beat and scourge his wife when she disobeys him. (Quran 4:34 )
Intellectually - no.. Because he cannot accept the American Constitution since it is based on Biblical principles and he believes the Bible to be corrupt.
Philosophically - no.. Because Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran does not allow freedom of religion and expression. Democracy and Islam cannot co-exist. Every Muslim government is either dictatorial or autocratic.
Spiritually - no... Because when we declare 'one nation under God,' The Christian's God is loving and kind, while Allah is NEVER referred to as Heavenly father, nor is he ever called love in the Quran's 99 excellent names.
They obviously cannot be both 'good' Muslims and 'good' Americans. The more who understand this, the better it will be for America and future. The religious war is bigger than we know or understand!
Footnote: The Muslims have said they will destroy us from within. SO FREEDOM IS NOT FREE. *
