The passionately pro-Israel organization Z STREET filed a lawsuit against the IRS, claiming it had been told by an IRS agent that because the organization was “connected to Israel,” its application for tax-exempt status would receive additional scrutiny. This admission was made in response to a query about the lengthy reveiw of Z STREET’s tax exempt status application.

Pretending to be modern Paul Reveres, Democrats and their media handmaidens are doing their damnedest to diminish the Benghazi revelations with the cheapest trick in town. While there is always pungent hypocrisy when one gang of politicians accuses another gang of playing politics, the current phony outrage from the Obama Protection Society is exceptionally putrid.
After all, the whole saga of Benghazi — before, during and after the terror attack — reflects nothing so much as the ultimate expression of Barack Obama’s politics. His preference for showing weakness abroad and contempt at home reached its full flowering in the massacre and its aftermath.
On Sunday, four bereaved women will be facing their first Mother's Day without their beloved sons, who were murdered in Benghazi last September 11. Will Hillary Clinton be thinking of them this Mother's Day? And if she were to send the Benghazi Moms a Mother's Day card, would it say, "What Difference at This Point Does It Make"?
Clinton herself may well have made a difference -- a life-or-death difference. Evidence is mounting that Libyan Ambassador Chris Stevens, staffer Sean Smith, and former Navy SEALs Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods could be alive to celebrate this Mother's Day with their moms if Clinton and others in the Obama administration had heeded Stevens's pleas to beef up security at Benghazi. Or if they had sent a fighter plane roaring overhead or special ops team to respond to the desperate signals for help that the men under attack repeatedly sent out.
There was plenty of warning that the Americans there were in big trouble.
Most Still Oppose Allowing Gays in the Boy Scouts

"A massive survey conducted by the Boy Scouts of America reveals that a majority of its members want to retain the current policy barring gays from joining or leading the organization.
Current policy states: "While the BSA does not proactively inquire about sexual orientation of employees, volunteers, or members, we do not grant membership to individuals who are open or avowed homosexuals or who engage in behavior that would become a distraction to the mission of the BSA."
On April 19, 2013, the BSA announced a proposal to no longer deny membership to youth on the basis of sexual orientation, while maintaining its ban on openly gay adult leaders.
A resolution states what would be the new policy: "No youth may be denied membership in the Boy Scouts of America on the basis of sexual orientation or preference alone."
Representatives of all local BSA councils will vote on the proposal on May 23.
The survey shows that of the 200,000 adult members who responded, 61 percent favor keeping the current policy, while 34 percent oppose it and would like to see the policy changed.
The survey also disclosed:
61 percent of Boy Scout parents and 50 percent of Cub Scout parents support the current policy barring gays.
62 percent of unit leaders support the current policy.
64 percent of council and district volunteers support it.
72 percent of chartered organizations support the current policy.
But an executive summary from the BSA obtained by CNS News notes that "while a majority of adults in the Scouting community support the BSA's current policy of excluding open and avowed homosexuals, younger parents and teens tend to oppose the policy."

In response to Senator James Inhofe (R-OK) invoking the “I word,” McCain called for caution:
“With all due respect, I think this is a serious issue,” McCain told guest host Martha Raddatz. “I will even give the president the benefit of the doubt on some of these things. We need a select committee.”
On how much blame former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton deserves, McCain was much less generous:

Shortly after midnight, State Police say five men and two women who are from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore, were caught tresspassing at the reservoir. They “cited their education and career interests” for being in the area. The men told police they were chemical engineers and recent college graduates.
All seven were allowed to leave and will be summonsed to court for trespassing, that is... If they show up.

A gut-wrenching scene unfolded across the small Texas town of Granbury early Thursday morning following a devastating outbreak of tornadoes. The storms left behind at least six dead and nearly 100 others injured in the neighborhoods of Rancho Brazos Estates and DeCordova Ranch, according to CNN.
At a midnight news conference, Hood County Sheriff Roger Deeds said that emergency management officials were still trying to account for 14 people.
"Some were found in houses. Some were found around houses," Deeds said. He also said the total number dead could climb as crews pick through the rubble of shattered homes.
As the tornado continued to slowly scrape across the Texas landscape east of Granbury, the funnel grew as large as a mile wide at times.

In a huge victory for pro-life advocates taking on the controversial HHS mandate, the Obama administration is giving up its effort to force a Bible publisher to obey it.
The mandate has generated massive opposition from pro-life groups because it forces employers, regardless of their religious or moral convictions, to provide insurance coverage for abortion-inducing drugs, sterilization, and contraception under threat of heavy penalties.
The Obama administration opposed an order a judge gave temporarily stopping enforcement, arguing that Tyndale House Publishers isn’t religious enough for an exemption from the mandate, a component of ObamaCare that forces employers, regardless of their religious or moral convictions, to provide insurance coverage for abortion-inducing drugs, sterilization, and contraception under threat of heavy penalties.
Now, at the Obama administration’s request, a federal appellate court Friday dismissed the Obama administration’s appeal of an order that stopped President Barack Obama from enforcing his abortion pill mandate against a Bible publisher. The administration’s retreat marks the first total appellate victory on a preliminary injunction in any abortion pill mandate case.

"3 Arrested in Plot to Bomb Egyptian Cities and Embassy," New York Times, May 11 (thanks to Kenneth):
CAIRO — Egyptian security forces have arrested three militants with ties to Al Qaeda who were planning terrorist attacks in Egyptian cities and against a foreign embassy, the interior minister said Saturday.
A Western official said the Egyptians had privately identified the embassy as the United States Embassy in Cairo.
Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim said at a news conference that the suspects had been arrested with 22 pounds of explosive materials and instructions on how to make bombs and build rockets and model airplanes to use in the attacks.
He said the suspects were “on the verge” of attacking an embassy when they were arrested.
He did not identify the embassy, but Egyptian officials have told their American counterparts that the United States Embassy was a target, a Western diplomat said.
